StradVision has announced a collaboration with Socionext, a supplier of system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, to bring StradVision’s deep learning-based camera perception software SVNet to the global market. By way of the collaboration, StradVision and Socionext will provide object recognition technology, with software and hardware specialized for deep learning, to the ADAS market. Similarly, the companies say they are focused on safety, performance, and customer satisfaction.
“This collaboration allows us to optimize the integration of our perception software into SoC developed by Socionext, resulting in extremely stable software operation within vehicles,” said Junhwan Kim, CEO of StradVision. “SVNet running on Socionext’s SoC will be a great solution for the ADAS and autonomous markets where robust performance and safety are essential.”
“In the automotive market, where significant growth is expected in the future, we will actively utilize StradVision’s software with the aim of providing custom SoCs that are a source of customer differentiation and competitiveness,” added Koichi Yamashita, Head of the Automotive Business Unit, Automotive & Industrial Business Group at Socionext.
SVNet Applications
SVNet is a hardware-optimized software for ADAS applications that works with LiDAR, radar, and cameras. Typical applications for SVNet include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision warning, among others. SVNet is currently used in mass production to support SAE Level 2 to Level 4 functionality and will be deployed in more than nine million vehicles worldwide.
Recently, Changan Automobile announced the inclusion of SVNet as part of a surround-view monitoring system for the forthcoming CS75 Plus SUV. “It is now possible to provide object detection with high recognition accuracy that is optimized for vehicle-mounted camera systems,” Yamashita said. “Software like SVNet can detect vehicles, pedestrians, lanes, and free space.”
